Ark. Assembly approves the bill on the prohibition of credit as a factor in assessing premiums car
Auto insurance would be required with credit ratings as a factor in setting auto insurance premiums of a bill by the House of Representatives from Arkansas, reports Associated Press.

Rep. Rick Green, R-Van Buren, said he designed the law after a few told him his prices were increased, as they paid their credit cards. The couple did not have huge file of credit and information were seen as a credit risk.
“Another man said he had always believed, pay his credit card would be a good thing and then his automobile insurance increased by $ 300,’’said Green.
72-20 Parliament voted in favour of the legislation, with two members voting present, despite concerns of some members that the amendment could lead to that insurance rates higher for all Arkansans.
Rep. Bruce Maloch, D-Magnolia and a banker, said insurance companies credit reports should make the best offer possible to assess the risks of their clients.
“They offer discounts for people with good (credit) Ratings. If this far, you end up with rebates,”he said.
But Rep. William Sample, R-Hot Springs, said his insurance company raises its prices because it owns a store and a large credit limit on his credit cards, even if it does not use credit. Example said he supports the change.
