Saline County has been one of the fastest growing counties in the state, its population growing by 30.1 percent over the past ten years, now that the eighth largest largest country circle with 83529 people according to the census 2000.

Benton, the National Statistical Office headquarters, saw its share of this growth. The city now has 21906 inhabitants, an increase of 20.5 percent compared to 18177 in 1990 census.
